CocoSol® has been tested and certified
September 2014: We are glad to announce that our coconut
product CocoSol® has been tested and certified according
to the lable „substrate for horticulture“ (RAL) by the
quality group „Gütegemeinschaft Substrate für Pflanzen“.
CocoSol® is a renewable raw material produced in large numbers as
a by-product of coconut production. While coconut fibers being long
time used, e.g. for mattresses, the fine material has just started to be used in horticulture, which can be seen as a means of recycling. This is unrivalled by thermal recycling. The raw material is transported in dried and compressed blocks by ship, minimizing the CO2 emissions caused by transportation.
CocoSol® is 100% coconut husk without any additives and can be used as an aggregate for many substrates. CocoSol® is produced by Brill and certified for organic horticulture according to EU-Regulation 834/2007, Annex I. With its homogenous composition, CocoSol® supports the structural stability and air capacity of the substrate - this increases the flowability of the substrate and makes it easier to process and rehydrate.
